Columbia Glacier
Sea Kayak Day Tour
Most Popular
Experience the best paddling, wildlife, and ice in Alaska on this unforgettable trip, which truly captures the essence of the Last Frontier. The Columbia Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier in Prince William Sound and has been retreating significantly from its terminal moraine since the early 1980s. This retreat has created a stunning 12+ mile long fjord filled with icebergs, making it one of the most rapidly changing glacial landscapes on Earth.
Our most popular kayak day tour takes you to the upper reaches of Columbia Bay, where you'll paddle through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the area. For decades, the renowned Columbia Day Tour has allowed guests to navigate among the icebergs at the outer terminal moraine, where the glacier's imposing faces meet the sea in a dramatic amphitheater.
Join us as we paddle around ancient, newly calved ice and step onto pristine beaches. With significant tide changes and varying calving rates, no two days are the same in the Columbia Glacier zone. We’ve replaced the old Iceberg Tour with this more engaging experience, because why settle for just an iceberg tour when you can also encounter the glacier up close?
